“As a fan of Mitscoots Outfitters and their purpose-driven mission, I've had the pleasure of getting to know Tim over the years. Tim is a rare breed. He's a born marketer, incredibly creative and lights up the room with his passion for helping people change their circumstances and thrive. Listening to Tim share his mission will leave you questioning your own impact on the world. I took my team to volunteer at Mitscoots over the holidays and it left an indelible impact on all of us. Every city needs a Tim Scott.”

“Tim Scott is a natural-born leader, advocate and business person. Everything I absorbed from my time working with him inspired me to continue pursuing social entrepreneurship. Tim encouraged me to accept a position in Uganda working for another social enterprise and when I came back from that experience, he encouraged me to seek out opportunities which led me to where I am now, managing social impact programs for BBVA, a global bank.”

Tim exuded's passion whenever we work together and I'm so lucky to be connected with him as a friend and fellow community organizer!”

“I've known Tim for over 10 years. We first met when we were neighbors at the University of Texas and then worked together as partners at Orange Harp. Tim is a person driven by an overwhelming desire to do the right thing, whether its carry your suitcase up the stairs or educate the public about what our homeless community needs. His work at Mitscoots inspires me, and I wear my socks (and give them as gifts) any chance I get. Tim is incredibly focused, a great listener, and genuine. He's an overall great person to know and work with.”

“When I worked at Mitscoots Outfitters as a product development intern during 2017, I worked directly for Tim, the Co Founder of the company. His knowledge, intentionality, and drive are qualities that make him a great business leader. His positive mental outlook helped me to learn from my mistakes, which makes him a phenomenal manager and team leader. I am incredibly grateful to have worked with Tim at the beginning of my career, and I believe that any team or organization will thrive with him in its midst.”

“I had the pleasure of working for Tim during my final semester of grad school as an intern for Mitscoots Outfitters. From the beginning, he made sure that I had all the necessary tools needed to succeed. Whenever I had a question, he was there to answer it and offer up a potential solution. When I felt like I was struggling, he offered guidance and allowed me to take chances creatively. All in all, he's one of the best bosses I've had and is very passionate about what he does and treats his team like family.”

Tim was a fantastic leader who gave me all of the tools to succeed but allowed me to take initiative and grow into the role. For Tim, Mitscoots is more then just a job but truly a passion and he treats those that work with him as his family. I very much enjoyed my time working with him.”

He is a great leader who is passionate about making social enterprises benefit those in need, as well as those he works with. The responsibility he gave me at such an early stage in my career, has been invaluable to me so far. I wish him all the best!”

Student Reviews

Given Anonymously

“Prof. Scott is very personable and obviously cares about his subject matter very much. He engages the class in an organic and practical way, promoting natural dialogue. I very much enjoyed him and his class.”

“This was one of my favorite classes I've taken. I felt like without the pressure of exams and assignments I was genuinely interested in learning what was being taught. Tim was also one of my favorite professors I've ever had. You could tell he cared about what he was teaching and really wanted us to go into the world with what we learned.”

“Best class ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very chill and laid back but still learned a great deal about business from the other side, social enterprises. Assignments were great, project was good and guest speakers were helpful. Overall enjoyed the course and other kids should take it too, if it's offered again.”

“One of my favorite classes I've ever taken.. The class was very interesting and the Brand Book project at the end of the year was extremely helpful. But, the best part of the class was definitely Tim, who's one of the best professors I've had here at UT. He really knows his stuff, and he also genuinely cares about and appreciates his students. Super kindhearted dude who understands that we have lives outside of his class and takes into account the amount of time (or, lack of time) we have to do things outside of class. I'm really appreciative that he didn't give us too much work outside of class, although what he did give us was very helpful. He really deserves to be recognized for being both an awesome person and lecturer!”

“You are great!!!!!! I really enjoyed taking this class and would have not known it was the first time it's been offered until you said it. You were engaging and inspired us to be active in our own lives. Thanks!”

“Really enjoyed the guest speakers. Loved that you showed us what was happening in the real world in terms of branding and social enterprise.”

“Great teacher and course. Loved the classroom discussions and group activities.”

“Tim was an incredible professor. He helped share information both in class and out of it. I appreciate his genuine interest in my success; this was one of my favorite classes.”

“I thought this class was very interesting, less stressful, and took a different approach and angle to advertising/pr. Thanks for being invested in our futures!”

“Tim Scott was an excellent instructor. He was very enthusiastic and always allowed for the class to participate and engage in conversation. I learned a lot of useful information about the industry and I am glad I chose to take this course.”

“Tim is awesome. I loved the class because he loved it. He was always excited to be there and was very engaging. It was easy for me to express my opinions and participate. It doesn't hurt that Tim is actually funny and made the class laugh as often as possible. Probably one of my favorite classes I've taken.”

“I really enjoyed this class. The professor was genuine interested in teaching the class and really wanted the students to learn more about the topic. I learned more than I expected from this class and always looked forward to come.”

“Tim was very enthusiastic about teaching this class. He was always prepared and encouraged us to participate in class. He was also very inspirational when it came to explaining social enterprise and branding. He also inspired me to think about my career goals and pursue them. I have even considered looking into social enterprises and pursue this side of business as a career.”

“Everything was great in this class as I learned something new I never had before. This class taught me so much and also, this class was awesome.”

“I am not one to be fond of online classes as they are at times tedious and professors don't make themselves available. Professor Scott made both himself and the TA available to everyone. Course content was sufficient and made us ready for our weekly assignments.”

“Great class that left a lot of initiative up to the students without feeling like there weren't enough instructions. Gave students room to explore and learn the subject in ways that were suitable to them, provided lots of great examples pertaining to the material, and both the professor and TA were very accessible and responded quickly.”

“Professor Scott did a great job letting us take accountability for our learning. He paved the way by giving us the information, but the class participation on Facebook really sealed the deal for his students to take their education even further. The assignments were simple to do yet very interesting and thought-provoking.”

“I really enjoyed this class. From the start, I could tell that Professor Scott loved what he did and that immediately made me excited for this class. Not only did it seem like he loved the class, but it seemed like he really cared for the students as well, making himself very available for office hours and questions. He is very understanding of his students. For example, I was confused on an assignment and did it wrong, but he understood that the first couple of days in class could be confusing. He gives students leeway and really want them to learn and engage in the material. Overall, I think Professor Scott was a great instructor and I would love to take a class from him again in the future!”
